Nkem Owoh, better known by his stage name Osuofia, has talked about why he doesn’t want to get involved in politics.
Goldennewsng reports that He stated that he turned down the offer because he might reach heights where he would become terrified and infected with the “disease” that affects Nigeria’s political system.
He stated that he travels alone and does not fear anything, but that getting involved in politics would scare him.
Giving his perspectives on the approaching political decision, the entertainer said, “I will simply proceed to cast a ballot. Even though I am aware that there are still some good people within the polity, I have attempted to reject Nigerian politics in its entirety, but the system is like a diseased mesh.
People have tried to get me involved in politics, but I know that if I do, I will get sick, and I don’t want that. As a result, I like to stay at the flank. When we have reasonable leadership in all directions, the country will improve. I can also see the ruffles, so I should expect it soon.
“I can’t carry it (politics) with my neck. The problem is, I like to smile wherever I can; You can see that both you and I are smiling. I also travel and move out on my own because I don’t worry about anything. I would, $ probably have reached a point where I would be afraid if I were in politics, but I don’t want to be afraid.
Owoh stated that the film industry was plagued by a lack of funding and policymakers’ recognition, but that the situation had changed as a result of policymakers’ recognition of Nollywood and its practitioners.
The silly entertainer said, “The entertainment world, and media outlets by and large, you don’t see squabbles between them yet go to the political field and you will see the lattice.
